Shaka and Lisa Perez at 2008 DC Salsa Congress

Lisa Perez & Shaka Brown at the DC Salsa CongressThis was my last dance at the 2008 DC Salsa Congress. What a weekend! Lisa Perez from Orlando's "Essential Element" Dance company, directed by Sean Wilson. She was rocking the shoes, and I was just running through the ballroom to make sure that everything was going well. DC Jon "Vino" Trevino was squeezing out the last track for the dancers on Sunday night. Lisa is a pleasure to dance with, and I always look forward to the way she follows the randomness that comes out of our social dances.

I'd never heard this song before, but it had a different groove to it that I was trying to pick up on. Having plenty of space to move around gave me the chance to stretch out the line of dance with Lisa. Some folks get a little shaken when you do a cross body lead and don't actually end up changing sides (would that even be called a cbl? hmm...) but Lisa handles it with ease and style all the way through. At around 1:00 into the video you can see Dave Moldover actually taking up the dance floor, it was nearly 4AM.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
